Spiritual Health Coaching: How I work?
I have a BA in Nursing Education and Community Health, BA Hons in Psychology, MA Creative Writing and PhD Sociology focusing on indigenous midwifery as a counter to obstetric violence. I am a trained nurse, midwife, published author and spiritual health coach. In my work as a healer, I draw strength and guidance from the teachings of my ancestors. In my role as a midwife, I provide psychological and spiritual counseling following abortion, miscarriage, or childbirth. Beyond physical birth, I also serve as a birthing companion for people who are in the process of giving birth to a new way of being in the world. Using a combination of psychological counseling, creative writing, and African spiritual healing principles, I create a dynamic birthing space necessary for deeper healing and personal transformation.
One-on-one consultations
This is dedicated to helping you unravel challenges and heal the trauma in your life. Using art, psychology, physiology, and indigenous healing practice, I work with you soul to soul to help you confront obstacles and heal the trauma in your life. Depending on your presenting challenge, I normally work on several sessions (weekly or biweekly) ranging from 5, 7 or 9. We will agree on what works best for you.
Couple and Family Healing Circles
Healing circle is a tool which has been used by indigenous communities over centuries. Participants take part in activities that foster collective healing. Specifically, healing circles combine talking cure with rituals and ceremonies that are based on participants’ cultural and spiritual beliefs. Facilitated by a healer or counsellor, healing circles create a safe, honest, and open environment for participants to experience deeper connection with self and others.
