A Registered Dietitian in South Africa, who is in good standing with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
In 2011, She started her career in the public hospital sector as a Registered Dietitian in Clinical dietetics. Due to the need to expand beyond her government job exposure, she resigned from her permanent job in 2015 to work full time at her private practice in Musina. She took a part time job as a clinical supervisor/junior Lecturer at Sefako Makgatho health sciences University in 2016. While she was a clinical supervisor/junior Lecturer, she established her practice in Soweto and sustained it through all the challenges she faced as an owner of such a business in the Township area. Most of her private practice dietetics focus areas include sports nutrition, chronic diseases, weight management, antenatal and maternal nutrition.
Miss Chuene registered to study for her Master of science in dietetics degree at Sefako Makgatho health sciences University. Her research focuses on women sports nutrition knowledge, dietary intake and nutrition challenges in Gauteng. She has always loved and played sports and felt that advancing her knowledge and documenting her findings in this research area would positively impact the future of women’s football in South Africa.
Miss Chuene continues to consult in her private practices and is involved in research projects that aim to improve livelihoods of many South African citizens. Miss Chuene aspires to collaborate and make partnerships with important stakeholders that will benefit all her clients and different communities. She has a high affinity to corporate health and wellness, which focuses on the livelihoods of the working class in southern Africa.
